This website provides ICT support to D/deaf people. You may be wondering why I keep typing D/deaf and not just deaf or Deaf.
Why D/deaf?
The use of the small d deaf means that the person does not asscioate with other members of the deaf community but strives to identifiy themselves with hearing people, regarding their hearing loss soley in medical terms.
The "Big D"-Deaf people tend to identify themsevles as cuturally deaf and have a strong deaf identity. The big D deaf may have attended deaf schools.
